Sears Silvertone Model 1591

This Silvertone Table radio was manufactured before April, 1941. It is functional and has a "tuning eye".

RCA Victor Floor Model 67V1

The cabinet for this radio has been restored. The original finish was "blonde", but I think the natural wood looks much better, so I stripped the old finish. This radio has a record player (one half of the top opens for access). The radio folds out the right side front. It is in working condition, and it was manufactured in 1946.

Crosley D-25WE

This is a Crosley model D-25 WE "dashboard" radio manufactured before 1952. While this example is white, they came in many colors. The colored versions are more valuable. This one works very well. I have two of these in each white and chartreuse, and one in maroon.

Laurel Troubador

This radio is a Laurel Troubador manufactured in Chicago in 1947 by the Warwick Radio Company. Note the cool airplane dial.

RCA Victor table top radio

This is a RCA Victor, model T10-1 manufactured before October, 1936. It works well, considering its age.

Zenith Table Radio Manufactured in 1950

I have many table radios that date from the early days of radio to the fabulous models produced in the 1950s. Not all work including this one, but they evoke astonishment by their appearance. Just think, the people who designed these babys were working on the cutting edge of existing technology and deployed their greatest artistic senses. This is model G516Y manufactured in 1950.

Philco Floor Radio with Record Player

These radios span two decades; the small one on top is from the 40s and plays like new with a rich warm sound. The larger one is from the 50s and sports a record player. It is currently non-functional, as my repair attemps only succeeded in electrifying myself. Someday, I shall return to this enigma and give it another shot (or shoot it, depending on what happens).

Admiral Floor Model

My first vintage radio. I acquired this one from friends who bought it new in either the late 1930s or early 1940s for $249.95. A lot of money then; I wonder how much that translates to now. It is a little rough, but it works. It has a record player that slides out when the front doors are opened. The needle on the tone arm looks like the barb on barbed wire. Very cool.

Philco Floor Radio with Record Player

This radio was purchased by my aunt when it was new. It is in very good condition because she always took great care of her things. It has a working record player that folds out of the front. It is a Philco radio model 46-1226 manufactured in 1946.

Zenith Model 10-S-474

This is a Zenith floor model radio manufactured in 1940 and sold for $79.95. It was purchased new by people that I knew. Well taken care of, it plays nicely.

Silvertone Model 6024

My dad listened to this radio when he was a boy. He is 82 years old now. It has a "tuning eye" that glows green; the stronger the am signal, the brighter it glows. This radio was manufactured in 1938 by Sears Roebuck & Co.

Antique Radios

This blog is about old radios. I have been collecting them for many years, and I have slowly enlarged my collection. I have radios from the early 1920s to the late 1950s. Although my collection isn't huge, the radios that I have are very desirable by collectors. I have learned a fair amount about repairing them, but I am by no means an expert. I will post some of the photos of individual pieces and will note which ones are for sale.
